Parking Problems

Heathside Latest

Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust have refurbished Heathside House, which is now being used for a variety of services for young people. The project involves a host of local authorities including KMPT as landlord, West Kent PCT and the Strategic Health Authority as funders and Kent Community Health Trust as the new community services provider. Surveyors were on site in December and the building contract was awarded to Jenner Contractors Ltd, who commenced work in early January. The services provided from Heathside House include child and adolescent mental health services provided by KMPT, children’s disability services provided by Kent CHT, a service provided by the National Deaf Children’s Service, wheelchair assessment services and some Paediatric services relocated from Preston Hall. The services at Heathside House operate largely during normal working hours, with some activities planned for evenings. The unit will not function 24 hours. The site has been fitted with additional security measures which will be reviewed after completion to ensure adequate for future use.

Since the opening there have been parking problems in surrounding streets, which the Trust and the Parish Council are working to rectify.
